queen bed

Our log beds are designed from native white cedar that has been hand and skip peeled and sanded smooth.  We try to retain as many unique characteristics of each log such as knots and worm tracings as possible.

Beds are made completely from cedar, even the rails.  However, if you are interested in only a headboard or headboard/footboard to attach to metal rails or another bed system, we can make these for you as well.  Prices for headboards are generally 50% of the prices quoted below for complete beds.  Please let us know if you need a special size.

Our beds are made with traditional mortise and tenon wood joinery.  For additional strength, heavy lag screws are used to join uprights with crosspieces at the corners.  We provide wood plugs so that when assembled these bolts are hidden from view.  Bed parts are labeled for easy assemby and breakdown.

These smoothly sanded, unfinished creamy white cedar beds can be used as is.  For example, the headboard with diagonal spindles below is unfinished...as are many of the pieces shown on this website.

If you prefer a finish, we offer a penetrating oil which gives a golden color and rustic look.  The oil hardens in the wood for a tough matte-like finish.  We can also do a polyurethane finish.

We prefer pick up of large pieces such as beds.  We are on the Vermont border less than 2 hours north of Albany.  There are Uhaul and Ryder truck rental companies less than an hour from us.

Shipping via UPS involves 3-5 packages depending on bed size.  Average cost is usually $ 150 to 250 in the continental United States.  An additional packing charge may be assessed.  Please send your zip code for a shipping quote.

We have found that freight shipping costs can be prohibitive, but would be happy to look into these for you.  Another option could be using a professional furniture moving company such as North American Van Lines or Allied, they might be more cost effective for multiple pieces...and more careful than frieght shippers.
